Aldehyde

Def. an organic compound consisting a carbon double bonded with oxygen and single bonded with hydrogen. It is also characterized by a carbonyl group, same with Ketone.

Examples:
1) Cinnamaldehyde, an aldehyde existing in cinnamon, the compound responsible for its flavor and odor.

2) Benzaldehyde, an aromatic aldehyde obtained from almond oil primarily used in perfumes, dyes and flavorings.
